Ever had the interest on relics and how these relics had created impact on various people? How about the desire to venerate relics of the Apostles and the early martyrs?

Many people honored the saints and their relics ought to be honored as members of the body of Christ, as holy vessels of divine grace through Jesus. Back then the relics were brought by those who had honored the relics themselves and who are exposed to the veneration of the faithful. Nowadays, only few people are seen holding the relics in benediction.

With the advent of the internet, individuals who previously rescued, protected and publicly venerated the relics now has the avenue to act as an organization and dedicate themselves to the preservation, education and veneration of these relics.

The largest collection of relics is under the guardianship of Mr. Thomas Serafin, President of International Center for Holy Relics (ICHR). Presently, the organization has been actively involved in stopping the sale of religious relics on the internet and exerted efforts in the re-education of countless people in the act of simony.

REFLECTIONS

“Jesus’ Baptism”

Why did Jesus, the sinless one sent from the Father in heaven, submit himself to John’s baptism? John preached a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins (Luke 3:3). In this humble submission we see a foreshadowing of the “baptism” of Jesus bloody death upon the cross. Jesus’ baptism is the acceptance and the beginning of his mission as God’s suffering Servant (Isaiah 52:13-15; 53:1-12). He allowed himself to be numbered among sinners. Jesus submitted himself entirely to his Father’s will. Out of love he consented to this baptism of death for the remission of our sins. Do you know the joy of trust and submission to God?
